Tele2 IFRS EBITDA rises 40% to 9.4 bln rbl in Jan–Mar

MOSCOW, May 15 (PRIME) -- Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of Russian mobile operator T2 RTK Holding, known under the Tele2 brand, increased 40% on the year to 9.4 billion rubles in January–March, as calculated under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the company said on Tuesday.

“We’re happy to note that results of the first quarter confirm continuity of the trends set last year for a quality growth of financial indicators of the company. We’re close to finishing a large-scale program of the launch of LTE networks, and today almost all regions of Tele2’s presence are equipped with the high-speed mobile Internet,” General Director Sergei Emdin said.

The EBITDA margin added 4.8 percentage points to 28.6%.

An average revenue per user (ARPU) rose 14.5% to 264 rubles, and the number of active users of the mobile Internet spiked 33%.

In January–March, T2 RTK Holding unrolled six new 4G networks. The number of regions covered by LTE was 56 out of 85 regions of the county.
